Leonie MARTIN

Before joining HOSPEEM in 2022, Leonie Martin did a traineeship in the European Commission and in a non-profit organisation in Washington D.C., worked at Maastricht University, for the Representation of the (German) State of North Rhine-Westphalia and with an elected mandate for the non-partisan NGO Young European Federalists.
She has vast experience in European civil society and European youth sector. Leonie holds a Master degree in European Studies from Maastricht University as well as a Master of Laws in International and European Law from the Free University Brussels.
Olena HORLACH

Olena Horlach is a Project and Policy Officer at HOSPEEM. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and biotechnology from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla academy (Ukraine) and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Central European University (Austria). Her main research interests are related to public health and anticorruption. Olena speaks English, Ukrainian and Russian.
Olena was involved in the projects of the European Centre for Minority Issues and Ukrainian State Institution as an intern. For the past year she worked as a research assistant in the Global Corruption Observatory at the Department of Public Policy at CEU which aims to support stakeholders in their fight against corruption worldwide.
Céline BARLET

Céline Barlet has worked part-time at the HOSPEEM Secretariat coordinating administration, financial and communication activities since 2014. Previously she worked as Program Manager in the higher education sector and as Project Officer in the non-profit sector for the European Year of Volunteering.
She holds a Bachelor degree in European Studies and a Master Degree in Educational Projects Management from the University Paris 8, France. She also holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from the Central European University (CEU) where she previously worked.
Sylvie SLANGEN

Sylvie Slangen has been in the HOSPEEM Steering Committee and delegated to the daily management since 2021. She was elected as HOSPEEM Secretary General in November 2025. Sylvie holds a master degree in political sciences and a European master in labour sciences. Throughout her career, she has always been passionate about and active in the social dialogue at the sectoral and cross sectoral level in Belgium as well in Europe, representing the interests of the employers of the social services sectors. She currently works at Zorgnet-Icuro, the Belgian member of HOSPEEM representing the Flemish network of care organisations.
