Webinar on Partnerships in Digital Skills Development

The HOSPEEM Webinar on “Partnerships in Digital Skills Development” took place online on 17 November 2021, gathering around 40 participants from across Europe, including employers’ organisations, EU institutions and other relevant stakeholders such as academia and healthcare professional organisations.

The Webinar focused on how the management processes and the related use of digital tools have been changing and adapting especially during the COVID-19 crisis. It also analysed the impact of these changes on healthcare professionals and patients.

Examples from the HOSPEEM Membership in Italy, Belgium and United Kingdom were showcased and the Flagship Initiative on Digital Skills for the health and care workforce was presented by Ms Raluca Painter, DG Reform, Head of Unit – Labour market, Education, Health and Social services.

HOSPEEM-EPSU Joint Work Programme 2014-2016 for the European Sectoral Social Dialogue in the Hospital Sector

At the last meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for the Hospital Sector in 2014, HOSPEEM and EPSU reached a final agreement of the Joint Work-Programme 2014-2016. The two broad thematic priorities that will lead the joint work of HOSPEEM and EPSU in the three years to come are occupational health and safety, and recruitment and retention of healthcare workforce.

Each theme is developed into specific objectives with clear deliverables and timeline. The planned activities and projects laid down in this document are also guided by transversal priorities agreed by HOSPEEM and EPSU so far. The final version of the HOSPEEM-EPSU Joint Work Programme 2014-2016 is now available.

A new book sheds light on health professional mobility in a changing Europe

Published by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies this new book sheds light on health professional mobility in Europe. As health professional mobility is growing in importance, relevance and complexity, new insights and tools to understand it, measure it and manage it are needed. The aim of this 2nd volume is to provide just this by focusing on the changing dynamics, mobile individuals and diverse responses. The book’s 16 chapters are written to inform the ongoing policy processes and enrich debates between decision-makers and observers across countries, sectors and disciplines.

EPSU-HOSPEEM Response to the European Commission’s Green Paper on Reviewing the Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications 2005/36/EC

HOSPEEM, the European Hospital and Healthcare Employers’ Association, and EPSU, the European Public Service Union, have decided to submit a joint response to the Green Paper.
It has to be read as complementary to the response sent by EPSU on 20 September and to replies of individual EPSU or HOSPEEM members.
This joint reply reflects the issues, concerns and proposals on which full or broad consensus between the European social partners for the hospital and health care sector could be reached.
